Green Oasis on Broadview's Page

Green Oasis on Broadview is a joint effort between social enterprise groups and a charitable foundation to celebrate social justice, social innovation, and economic feasibility through a concrete example of a community agricultural space. The Green Gardeners Community Collaborative, the Greener Side Ecological Solutions, and ChocoSol Horizontal traders and chocolatiers are working with the Seeds of Hope Foundation to create a beacon of change in the urban agriculture movement currently under way in Toronto.

Green Oasis is located behind the Loblaws on Broadview Ave, South of Danforth in Riverdale, Toronto. Everything we grow is edible, and is planted and harvested by volunteers and community members. Because of the many wonderful ideas expressed by the partners in early sessions it was deemed a good idea to put some of our ideas on the web to see if our enthusiasm for the Green Oasis on Broadview would be contagious. We welcome volunteers into our garden--anyone interested in seeing this community space can drop by during our volunteer hours, which are Wednesdays from 6pm until dusk, and Fridays from 12 noon until 3 (more information on our site.)
